Last week, Consul General Rodolphe Sambou, Cultural Attaché Jacques Baran and Education Expert Valérie Theriez visited immersion schools In Mamou, Ville Platte, Shreveport and Ruston to witness the outstanding work accomplished by the teachers and staff over there.
As a cornerstone of Francophonie in Louisiana, it is so encouraging to see the unwavering support of those communities for French education, as a cultural marker and a useful asset for the next generation !

1st immersion school in Shreveport! Thank you to Principal Ronald Morris for welcoming our Cultural Attaché Jacques Baran and Education Technical Expert Valérie Theriez to Fairfield Elementary Magnet. This school is very motivated by its French immersion program, which is proving a great success.
Congratulations to Amy Williams, the school’s Global Studies Coordinator, and Julie Scruggs, Foreign language supervisor for the parish.
They then headed for the two immersion schools in the Lincoln parish: Ruston Elementary School, run by Principal Mandy Brown, and Glen View Elementary School, run by Principal Phaedra Blake, a firm believer in the benefits of immersion.
Our agents witnessed unprecedented support for the teachers and the immersion program, with a strong commitment from the parish’s foreign language coordinator, Mrs. Corinne Nutt.
