Visit of ESPE Martinique in Louisiana [fr]
In the framework of their initial training, twenty student teachers from the Academy of Martinique were welcomed by instructors and families of immersion schools in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Observation, classroom strategies, meetings with American interns and instructors, university lectures, American immersion schools, historic and cultural site visits, and development of instructional methods filled densely-packed weeks for the ESPE students.
The project united several immersion schools, including Audubon, Lycée Français, Ecole Bilingue, Westdale Middle School in Baton Rouge, the University of New Orleans, Louisiana State University, and Xavier University. These schools offered their campuses during the entire stay and actively participated in programs at the Jazz Historical National Park, La Semaine Française at NUNU, as well as Whitney Plantation.
The students spoke with skill and pleasure, contagious to all of our partners serving the children of French programs.
