Matt Mick begin his career in 2014 as foreign language assistant in France within the TAPIF program, then was teaching french in Louisiana.
Since 2017, he is the press and communication officer for the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL).
Thanks to a partnership between the French American Chamber of Commerce- Gulf Coast Chapter and the Consulate, the Donald Hoffman Memorial Grant supports students or young professionals working on a project related to francophonie in Louisiana.
The grant was created in memory of Donald Hoffman, who founded the chamber in 1983 and passed away in 2012 during his second tenure as president.
The Donald Hoffman grant will allow Matt to be part of the CultureLab program of the International Film Festival of La Rochelle. Each year, this program sends 15 students and young professionals from the cultural sector and the film industry to discover the La Rochelle Cinema Festival (June 28th - July 7th). There will be screenings, film critic classes, video production and exclusive meetings with distributors, producers and filmmakers.
No doubt that Matt Mick will use that experience to promote Francophonie !
