Mrs Nicole Boudreaux was made Chevalier in the Ordre des Palmes académiques in July 2008. Since then, Mrs Boudreaux has not stopped weaving the threads for French education and language, that played a crucial role in her recognition by the education authorities of Lousiana and the parent community.
She is in charge of teaching languages in Lafayette parish that regroups ¼ of French immersion students in Louisiana. She works toward multiplying these numbers and creating immersion classes in high school. An administrator recognised by her peers, she leads research, structures actions for education, galvanises associative support for the construction of a linguistic and educative policy, making the model of French immersion an example of success for all.
For the exceptional insight of her engagement, for the interest, quality and pertinence of her research in service of the preservation of French and francophone cultural identity in Louisiana, for the exemplarity of her actions and the efficiency of the results obtained, Mrs Boudreaux is promoted to the rank of Officer in the order of the Palmes académiques.
