Mr. Thomas Brewster Awarded Legion of Honor [fr]
September 17, 2015, the Consul General of France in Louisiana awarded Mr. Thomas Brewster, of Baton Rouge, the Legion of Honor for his acts of service during the Second World War.
Mr. Brewster’s medal was accepted on his behalf by his wife, daughters, and grandson, Mr. Gregory E. Thomas. A moving ceremony was held at the Consulate General of France in Louisiana.
Mr. Brewster, a radio officer, notably participated in the terrible Battle of the Bulge. His battalion also courageously fought in Normandy, Champagne, Germany, and Austria.
The Consulate General of France in Louisiana extends its deepest gratitude to Mr. Brewster, a proud veteran, for his sacrifice and his acts of service in the name of liberty, democracy and human dignity.
France will never forget.
