Mr. Earl Clayton, Jr. Receives Legion of Honor [fr]
January 12, 2016, the Consul General of France in Louisiana awarded Mr. Earl Clayton, Jr. the Legion of Honor for his acts of service during World War Two.
During a private, moving ceremony in New Orleans, the Consul General bestowed the medal to Mr. Clayton, a former architect, in the presence of his family and friends.
Mr. Clayton, a pilot of B-24 airplanes, participated in 30 aerial missions in France and in Germany during the War, including D-Day in Normandy.
The Consulate General of France in Louisiana expresses its gratitude to Mr. Clayton, a proud veteran, for his sacrifice and acts of service, in the name of liberty, democracy and human dignity.
