Moving "Cajun" Farewell Party for the Consul General in Lafayette [fr]

Acadiana, Lafayette, and the "Cajuns" hosted a wonderful farewell party in honor of Consul General Grégor Trumel, before he leaves Louisiana this summer

The city of Lafayette, the International Center, CODOFIL, Festival International de Louisiane, the Acadian and Créole festival, the NUNU Collective in Arnaudville, the consortium of French immersion schools, the Alliance Française of Lafayette, Zachary Richard, the secretary of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Acadian delegation from the State Capitol in Baton Rouge, the United Houma Nation, and dozens of friends came together to celebrate the Consul and the work of the Consulate General over the past three years.

Over the course of the evening, Mr. Trumel, who is already an honorary citizen of Lafayette, was declared an "Honorary Cajun", a distinction he will carry with pride! He was surrounded by his family and the team from the consulate during this unforgettable evening.

A warm, generous, and very moving evening- a true Franco-Louisiana event!
