Louisiana Culture Awards in Baton Rouge [fr]

Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser presided over the Louisiana Culture Awards ceremony at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, May 24.

Actors, activists and cultural institutions were celebrated for their contribution to the state’s culture.

On this occasion, the Consul General of France joined Billy Nungesser, as well as the President and Director of CODOFIL (Council for the Development of France in Louisiana) to award the Francophonie prize to legendary journalist from KRVA, Pete Bergeron.

For the past 35 years, Pete Bergeron has passionately animated a broadcast entirely in French on Lafayette public radio, "Bonjour Louisiane".

On his show, he features Francophone artists and personalities from Southern Louisiana, and is followed by thousands of faithful listeners.

His broadcast, which is available as a podcast online through KRVS Public Media, is a must-listen for all lovers of French culture in Louisiana.

A deserved recognition, félicitations, Mr. Bergeron and KRVS. Bonjour et Salut de Louisiane !
