French-American Night with the Pelicans 2016 [fr]
Saturday, February 27, 2016, the third edition of French-American Night with the Pelicans took place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
This event, organized by the French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC-GC) and the Consulate General of France in Louisiana, brought together francophone and francophile sports fans, as well as immersion school students to cheer on New Orleans’ NBA team, the Pelicans, and its French star, Aléxis Ajinça!
During a happy-hour in the arena’s "Parade Stand" prior to the match against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a small group had the opportunity to meet Mr. Ajinça on the basketball court.
February 29, Mr. Ajinça visited the Ecole Bilingue of New Orleans, accompanied by members of the "Swoop Troop", team dancers, and the mascot, Pierre!
The students participated in a presentation on the importance of reading, as well as a reading with Alexis Ajinça of a French children’s book, "Rouge Matou".
