The Minister Delegate for Francophony, Mrs. Yamina Benguigui, met today the Lieutenant governor of Lousiana, Mr. Jay Dardenne. During this meeting, educative, cultutal and linguistic cooperation accords have been signed.
These cooperation accords implement in particular:
an initial training program for french speaking Louisianian teachers in partnership with French universities,
the creation of a quality label for immersion school and the extension of the immersion model to high-school with the development of professional course of study that meets the requirements of the local economy,
the certification of the students’ linguistic competencies with a French degree.
This improvement of the educative and linguistic cooperation is an important step in the relation that France started forty years ago with Louisiana.
